The 2D sketcher is a constraints based sketcher. You can add, remove, modify dimensions and geometric constraints in our 2D sketcher. As you constrain the sketch, the sketch changes colors to let you know what is and what isn't constrained.

The 3D sketcher allows you to create geometry anywhere in space without having to worry which plane you are on. This type of sketcher is extremely important to working with complex surfaces or free form design.

Tired of figuring out how to create assemblies in your current software? Perhaps you should look at TopSolid. TopSolid offers a dynamic, intelligent assembly constraint manager. All you need to do is select a face of the part you want to apply a mate too, and then the face of the part you want to mate the part with and TopSolid does the rest for you. In most cases, TopSolid can interpret what type of mate you are looking for automatically. If your not happy with the mate that TopSolid applies, no problem. Just tap your right mouse button to toggle through all possible solutions.

Once you're finished adding the mates, test the mechanics of the assembly. TopSolid allows you to grab a component in your assembly and move it around.  TopSolid will then dynamically update the assembly based on the assembly constraints. The result is dynamic assembly motion. During dynamic assembly motion, you can check for collisions between all moving components or just a couple of them.
